EDITOR: Detroit Live is seeking an editor. The Editor of Detroit Live is a part time position. The editor essentially decides what stories will appear in Detroit Live Magazine. He/she coordinates photographers and writers and acquires/assigns media passes. Editor also proofreads and edits articles and works closely with Photo editor. Editor controls much of what appears in Detroit Live.

 

Detroit Live Magazine is currently seeking talented and enthusiastic individuals to begin careers with Detroit’s only live music magazine. We are seeking salespeople, writers, and events coordinators.

 

FULL TIME SALES MANAGER WANTED:

Detroit Live Magazine is seeking a professional aggressive sales manager who can help us develope our current areas as well as expand. Should be able to interview, hire and train sales people. Should be able to lead by example. Sales Manager will have full control of our Taylor based headquarters and all sales people therein. Sales manager will earn % off of sales people,  his own sales and % of overall company profits.

Sales manager will recieve first option of ownership regarding all new DL franchises.

Full Time Account Reps -  Detroit Live is Detroit's only live music monthly Magazine. We are seeking full time sales people to assist with our current expansion. Account Reps are encouraged to use personal / business contacts, cold calling ( email / inperson) and social media to create a database of monthly repeating advertising clients.  AR's may work from thier home office and/or from our Office at 20600 Eureka Raod in Taylor. Experience is preferred but will consider properly motivated applicant with applicable skills.

Media Partners/Franchisee: Detroit Live Magazine's print edition is available Downtown, Royal Oak Ferndale, Downriver and the Westside (Canton Westland Livonia etc.). We are seeking qualified business people to develope Print editions on Detroit's East Side, Flint, Ann Arbor and Toledo.

 

We seek Media Partners within each of these regions. Media Partners will be the exclusive DL representation for each zone and will profit from all advertising, sponsorship or sales made in their region. They are provided with sales aids, price lists and @detroitlivemagazine email addresses.Franchisees are expected to build and manage a sales organization capable of selling 8-12k per month in sales. They are expected to use personal business contacts, cold calling and networking to to drive advertising sales towards their sales organization.

 

Operates with autonomy regarding content of of their franchise.

 

Magazine design complete with partial content provided each month.

 

Franchisee is responsible for marketing, advertising as well as all events in their region.

 

Potential income: $3-8k / month

Writers: Detroit Live is always seeking writers of all kinds. Whether its reviews or in depth stories we are open to all stories. Most writers are compensated thru promotion, free concert tickets or artist access. Artists who remain with DL long term can qualify for monetary payment.

Potential income: N/A

 

Event Planners/Promoters: Events are the key to success for Detroit Live magazine. Over the last few years we’ve had great success with our Tribute Shows, Battles of the bands, Showcase shows as well as our specialty shows (Christmas /Halloween/NYE etc).

We are currently seeking individuals who can plan, promote and execute live events. Compensation is based per event and can range from $100-300 per night. Event planners are also qualified to earn percentages of any advertising purchased by venues holding events. Event planners manage all aspects of the event and may have a small staff of ticket/Merchandise sales people as well as promotional models.

 

Potential Income: $300-$700.00 / month
